Day 4 - You hold the key

Today we had to find the magic remedy that no matter what, it will give us the perspective that we need. The key was to remember what that is and pull it out when we need it most. Thus, I turn to my vast collection of cookbooks. I have always been passionate about baking and enjoy it when I do.

Day 3 - All you need is LOVE

Today's theme is All you need is love... this is so true... today was a simple day spent either visiting local businesses for the holiday event that was held or at home with my two best buds. We had some fun in the snow, played, and I even accomplished getting some Christmas projects done. Days like this are the best!

Day 2 - Reframing the Season

Each Holiday Season since losing my baby girl, Lily, I wonder what it would be like if she would have been born. I imagine our house being so very busy and full of life like it is with Mallory. I often wonder if Mallory would be here too or if Lily's purpose was for us to be blessed by Mallory a year later. I love my dear Lily so much and anticipate the day I can hold my baby for the first. But will Lily be a baby when I get to heaven, or will have she grown up into a beautiful woman.... I hope to not find out for many, many years. I also know that until the day we are reunited, that is she is in splendid care...

Thus, when I stare at my tree, I will always think of my sweet first child, Lily Elaine....

Gratitude - Day 1 - Picture it Holidays

So I decided to take part in this 31 photo experience offered by Paper Coterie... Each day they will post a new theme and we are capture it in a photo. Today's theme is Gratitude...

I am so grateful for the tiny toes in the photo... She is my light in a dark tunnel, my sunshine on a cloudy day, and the sweetness in a cup of lemonade! I am thankful that the Lord blessed Greg and I with such a wonderful daughter... I am also thankful for my DH, my new job, and all my family and friends....

AHEAD Conference Seattle 2011

Last week I attended the AHEAD national conference in Seattle.  I love this conference as I have many friends and colleagues that I get to reconnect with, but also for the wonderful content and learning opportunities it provides. I attend two great sessions on captioning and transcription. There was a third session to tie it all together but was unable to attend due to my new appointment on the Board of Directors.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Margaret Bartlett of the infamous disability lawsuit of Bartlett vs. NY Bar Exam.  Her case open the doors for so many with disabilities with standardized testing and higher education.
